Nazareth House Apostolate Rosary Pilgrimage began with Lauds (Morning Prayer) and Mass in the Rosary Chapel of Grace Church. The Painting “Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary” is enthroned in this chapel. The painting (photos #1 & #2) is dated as a precursor to the famous rosary painting in Pompeii . Before taking off on our Rosary journey, Fr. Seraphim gave us some instruction on the Rosary Bead (The Nazareth House Rosary) and prepared us for the Pilgrimage.

Sad news, another child lost….

Dear Friends,
It’s 4:22 AM, Sunday Morning, 12 October. I’ve just received a text message from James that Kadiatu has lost the baby. Sierra Leone has the highest infant mortality rate in the world. Kadiatu has been hospitalized and in labor for weeks, that she was allowed to remain this way, without c-section; without any help to her or the child is pitiful ….all the while the hospital was collecting fees. C-sections are performed in Sierra Leone, but it depends on whether the patient can afford it or not, whether the patient lucks into the right hospital. What a sad day. We pray for Salu, Kadiatu and Salma for the loss of another child in their family. So sad.

Salu has arrived at St. Laurence House. James and Kadijah are going with him to see Kadiatu, to make sure she is alright.

In other news, word reached us that there is slight improvement in Pa Barrie. We will let you know as we find out information. Keep up the prayers, please!

Pa Barrie is one of the best friends of Fr. Seraphim. He is an extremely holy man He lives in Freetown but due to an illness had been in Guinea until he heard that Fr. Seraphim was in Freetown. Despite his illness, despite the terrible traveling conditions between the two countries, Pa Barrie hastened to Freetown to see Father Seraphim. The picture above captured the respect and love between these two religious men as they embraced upon seeing each other again after a long time.

Pa Barrie is Muslim and prays without ceasing the Name of God for peace, love and unity.

After meeting with Father Seraphim in Freetown, he returned to Guinea to gather his belongings to return permanently back in Sierra Leone. However, after arriving back in Guinea he became very ill and is unable to speak. His daughter left for Guinea this week, to see how best to help him and was very discouraged with the condition she found him in. He is gravely ill. Please, please keep him in your prayers!!!!!!

Thank you.

James is making decisions as to what is best for Pa Barrie and what journeys should be made (Bringing his wife to him, etc. ) Keep all of this in your hearts and prayers.
